How it runs
Twelve online sessions, one on one
Over video, at times you agree with us. A session is 60 minutes as standard, and the length follows what the session is for: some run 20 minutes, some run 90. How often you meet is agreed with your family, and it is built around school.
Three phases
Finding the thing worth building. Building it. Turning it into something your child can put on their applications.
Between sessions
Work agreed together, the next step written down, and Matyas a text away at any time, with anything.
What they finish with
A launched project with their name on it, and a written account of what they did.
Why it works
- People learn a skill by doing it. The sessions are spent building.
- Motivation follows ownership. When the project is your child's own, chosen by them, they push in a way no assigned task produces. Deci and Ryan's work on self-determination, running since the 1970s, points the same way.
